RAISING INTUITIVE EATERS

"I signed up for the Intuitive Eating course because mealtimes with my 3 year old we’re very stressful. He only ate certain foods which often led to me packing his own food for him when we went places in fear of him not eating anything because he didn’t like the options.

Since starting the course, he asked to help me cut up a watermelon and eat it outside while playing and also said “mm frozen peas, I love them” while eating his second helping.  Prior to the course, there would have been kicking and screaming at the sight of these foods.  Erica and Vicki taught me how to take the pressure off at mealtimes and make it enjoyable again."

Raising Intuitive Eaters Course

Erica, a mom of four, understands the challenges feeding little mouths can be. Especially in a world where diet culture has convinced us health is measured by the number on the scale or the size of our pants. Her goal is to help parents continue to cultivate intuitive eating in their children in the hopes of preventing a more complicated relationship with food down the road, think eating disorders. A serious mental illness that contributes to an unhealthy preoccupation with eating, exercise, and body weight or shape.

Vicki, a mom of two, has over 10 years of experience in the treatment of eating disorders. Vicki uses several evidence-based therapies including CBT-E and Family-Based Treatment.  She is additionally trained in trauma therapies to get to the underlying root.

The group will meet for four consecutive weekly sessions. Each week we’ll focus on a different section of the “How to Raise an Intuitive Eater” book with the content from that section serving as the foundation for that week’s discussion. We will have the option for “hot seat” questions from parents in attendance. Participants will be encouraged to share their reactions to the content, ask questions, and seek support from one another.
